NSK develops a new machine tool spindle bearing with roller guide cage

NSK has developed a new machine tool bearing. Using this bearing, the spindle assembly is easier, the running-in time is reduced, and the reliability is greatly improved. The easier assembly method and higher reliability achieve lower maintenance costs and higher reliability. High productivity, NSK will exhibit this technology at the "NSK Virtual Expo - Machine Tool Online Exhibition" at the end of this month.

When assembling the spindle, the grease of the single row cylindrical roller bearing requires a long running-in time to optimize the amount and position of the internal grease. Since the running-in process takes a long time, it greatly affects production and needs to be improved urgently. In addition, when using oil and gas During lubrication (a lubrication method in which compressed air mixed with a small amount of lubricant is blown into the bearing at high speed), the temperature of single-row cylindrical roller bearings will rise abnormally when rotating at low speeds, and improvements are also required.

Ideally, these problems can be solved by using bearings with roller-guided cages that stabilize the cage during operation, but this approach can result in excessive stress on the bearing cage. Larger and more susceptible to damage, therefore, spindle bearings currently on the market usually use outer ring-guided cages.

Recently, NSK has developed a roller guide cage whose durability is equivalent to that of a traditional outer ring guide cage. The new roller guide cage design can discharge excess lubricant more effectively, shortening the running-in time and lubrication. Grease running-in time is 70% shorter than traditional outer ring guide cage. Roller guide cage bearings can cause abnormal temperature rise due to excessive retention of lubricating oil in the bearing during low-speed operation. However, the new cage design solves this problem and reduces excessive oil retention during low-speed operation. Retention and temperature rise help improve the stability and reliability of oil-air lubricated spindles. At the same time, the design and materials of the cage have been optimized to prevent failure and breakage. Compared with traditional roller guide cages, the durability (reliability) of the new roller guide cage is significantly improved.

This technology helps increase machine tool productivity by reducing assembly and break-in time for grease-lubricated spindles. It also increases cage strength and reduces temperature rise under oil-air lubrication, helping to achieve high reliability. Sexual operation.
